The article is dealing with calculating the load capacity in surface contact of the non-standard straight involute gearing with applying the calculating procedure according to current standards. The non-standard gearing in our case is the gearing with the factor of transverse contact ratio value ε_α≥ 2 (High Contact Ratio Gearing), the tooth sides of which can be modified longitudinally and in their height. The basic principle of these modifications is presented. The calculation of gearing load capacity in contact comes out from the known Hertzian equation and the factors used in this equation are discussed, which are influenced by the non-standard basic profile and which cannot be determined by the standardized procedures valid for ε_α≥ 2. The proposals for their evaluating are presented which come out from the authors pieces of knowledge. Further the analysis of experimental results is performed which have been gained during testing the service life period of wheels with standard and non-standard gearing without longitudinal modification and with three variants of longitudinal modifications. On the basis of this analysis, the corresponding Wohler's curves and surface fatigue limit values are determined.
