This paper shows magnetic properties and control efficiency of active magnetic bearing (AMB) by using electro-magnetic fields analysis code. We have simulated 3-dimensions nonlinear transient response of homopolar AMB considering magnetic properties of materials, eddy currents and anisotropy of electric conductivity. It is found that the magnetic properties of AMB are different in the state of rotor (rotating or not). The control efficiency of AMB is found to be growing worse because of increasing control frequency of AMB and high rotational speed. And it is clear to appear the coupled force, which the rotor is instable during rotation because of eddy current.
