Shape Memory Effect of metal was first found by Mr. Read with Au-Cd Alloy in 1951. In 1963,US Naval Ordnance Laboratory Group has incidentally found excellent Shape Memory property in Ti-Ni Alloy, which has increasingly drawn interest in the industry as the industrial material. Shape Memory Alloy has actually been applied more and more to the industrial uses after 1981 when the basic patent of Ti-Ni had expired. Application of uses are wide ranging electrical home appliances, automobiles, civil engineerings, constructions. Apparel and other devices around home living. In the recent years, the application of Ti-Ni has been widened to the area of medical devices and 60-70% of the reports presented to the industrial academies or conferences relate with the application of Ti-Ni to the medical uses. It ha passed 40 years since Ti-Ni Shape Memory Effect was found and the Alloy has proved that it is deeply penetrated and well based in the industry in general We like to submit here report on the shape Memory Alloy as the material for medical devices.
