The investigation on the piston ring and it's testing apparatus was reported in the previous paper^<(1)> by one of the authers. The present paper deals with further researches carried on with the ring tester which was contrived of by the authers.In the new ring tester, it is arranged to have neither humidity nor electromagnetic induction intervened in to the piezo-electricity generated. Besides that the piston ring to be examined can move up and down in the cylindrical barrel not to cause any local stress in the ring due to the friction against the wall when it is forced in. A number of tests made on sample pieces of piston rings in the markets at home and abroad shows how irregularity the pressures on the cylinder wall are distributed. There are even such portions in some of the pieces where almost no pressure is exerted, namely, a compressed gas is freely admitted to escape. On the contrary entire satisfaction is resulted in the P.C.R Piston Rings made by the anther's process, the pressure distribution being nearly the uniform. The description goes on about the influences of the pressure distribution, the forms of the gap ends and the number of rings upon the packing action for leakage of high pressure gases. A motor driven small Diesel engine was used for the experiments.
