The experimental auto-immune hemolytic anemia was induced out in the rabbits by frequent immunization with 1% formalin-treated auto-erythrocytes as Yoshikawa's Method, and the histologica1 changes of the kidney were observed in the course of time. Major histological changes were as follows: Almost glomerulus showed, anemia and swelling of endothelial cells of capillaries, namely exsudative glomerulitis. But, in some cases dramatic alterative and necrotizing inflammatory changes were observed on the rabbits sacrificed 40 days after last immunization. In the tubule, hyaline droplet degeneration, hyaline and hemoglobine cast in the renal tubular cavity, and then in the small arteries, proliferation and swellin of the endothelial cell and perivascularedema were found. Those pathohistological changes resemble to the renal changes in the intravascular antigen-antibody reaction using heterogenous anti-erythrocytic serum and in the autopsy cases of hemolytic anemia. In some case the renal histological changes after 40 days resemble to those in nephritis caused by auto-renal immune reaction.
