Examinations were carried out on the problem whether serum transaminase activity could be increased by giving the damage upon the hepatic tissue by plasmin extracted from blood plasma of the dog. When plasmin was injected into the superior mesenteric vein of the rabbit the ascension of the serum transaminase and the descension of transaminase in the hepatic tissue were temporarily noticed and by the pathological examination, the high congestion and the stagnation such as the dilatation of central vein, plasmastasis, thrombosis and the swelling of the hepatic cells, were observed. When the hepatic emulsion was injected into the superior mesenteric vein of the rabbit sensitized with liver homogenate, the marked and lasting ascension of the serum transaminase was noticed. Furthermore the determinations of plasmin activities in the blood plasma and the serum transaminase were clinicaly performed on various cases, chiefly on the hepatic diseases. From the results of the comparative examination it was clarified that most of the cases with active plasmin showed the abnormal ascension of the serum transaminase activity.
