The authors researched the behavior of flow at the outlet of an impeller of a periphery blower, making use of a 3-hole yaw probe. They showed that the increment of velocity at the outlet was inversely proportional to the flow rate and that the changes in velocity and direction of flow arose parallel to the width of impeller. In this report, the flow at the inlet of the impeller, which has a more complex flow pattern than at the outlet, was measured using a 5-hole cylindrical yaw probe capable of measuring three dimensional flow. It was found that the flow pattern in the passage had a swirl flow like a forced vortex flow in a long pipe.
