In paper manufacturing, textile and printing industries, especially on processes with high-speed velocity variations, control of the running sheet is very important. In this paper, we describe a mathematical model of a pliable sheet as a function of rate of strain. This model precisely predicts both viscoelasticity properties and properties depending on the deformation rate of materials. Using this model, we analyze variations of tension at large velocity variations on the rewinding process. We propose a technique to control the variations of tension using a motor-driven moving roll.
