Studies on Anisotropic Yield Criteria and Press Formability of Sheet Metals : Investigation into Bassani-type Criteria

Applicabilities of the phenomenological anisotropic yield criteria (i.e., Bassani, Hill's conventional and new, and biquadratic ones) are examined using commercial-purity aluminum and killed sheets. A procedure for determining the material parameters related to the criteria by a uniaxial tension test and two kinds of compression tests is presented. It is concluded that though the Bassani criterion has a few intrinsic problems, it is the most useful one to predict yield loci and strain distribution in axi-symmetrical bore-expanding.
