This paper is concerned with a method for calculating the dynamic response of a transversely isotropic spherical shell subjected to radially symmetric loadings. A solution of the problem has been obtained by using the ray theory. Following this method, an equation is derived for calculating the dynamic response in a transversely isotropic sphere under internal pressure, and numerical example are given for three kinds of spherical shells, such as isotropic, weak anisotropic, and strong anisotropic ones. The numerical results show the effect of anisotropic properties explicitly.
