The shape and size of subsequent yield surfaces after prestraining under radial loading were investigated quantitatively with a cross-shaped flat specimen. The following results were obtained. A corner was observed generally in the subsequent yield surface, while it was not observed clearly for the uniaxial prestrain. With the increase of prestrain, the corner became sharper and its sharpness converged to a constant value dependent on the prestraining direction. The subsequent yield surface, except on the part of the corner, was approximately an ellipse in shape. The range of the yield surface affected by the corner, the length of major and minor axes of the ellipse assumed to be the yield surface, and the angle of rotation of the major axis became maximum for prestraining along the loading path of σ_y/σ_x=1/2. The translation of the subsequent yield surface reached the maximum for the prestraining direction of σ_y/σ_x=1,where its rotation was not found.
