This paper shows a theoretical analysis of the coupled laminar heat and mass transfer around a flat plate with a uniform heat flux. The similar temperature and concentration profiles were obtained by means of both perturbation and numerical calculation. The Nusselt and Sherwood numbers are found to be in good agreement with the experimental results with the use of naphthalene and are expressed as follows : [chemical formula] Thus, it has been proved that the similarity between heat and mass transfer is valid.
