A large-scale mill system includes gear case reductions, large electric motors, fans, etc. The equipment has complex structure, large and varying transmission power, running discontinuously, locale electromagnetism disturb, bad operating environment. In this paper, the research and design of the on-line monitoring and fault diagnosis system for a large-scale mill are introduced from the point of hardware design, software design and finally assembly as a product set up on the factory. The multi-level fault diagnosis system to consider the actual situation and requirement, combines several diagnosis theory, identify the fault signal on multi levels, so that the on-line monitoring system's diagnosis efficiency is improved greatly.
