In this paper we describe a new special microphone to diagnose faulty bearings by emitted sound efficiently. The frequency range under 1kHz is cut off to reduce the noise based on lower frequencies and the sensitivity is higher than usual microphone. The new microphone expands the detecting range in the low rotating speed and the long measurement distance in comparison with the usual microphone. A parabola is used to enhance the directivity and sensitivity of the microphone. The use of the new microphone, the parabola and the diagnostic algorithm by amplitude probability density function, which is used for vibration diagnosis, makes possible easy detection of the fault signal The new microphone can diagnose faulty bearings simultaneously in two machines by emitted sound. We check if the bearing fault exists in either of two machines without using the parabola in order to collect both sounds at first. After finding that the bearing fault exists in either of two machines in the first stage, we check each machine by using the parabola. We succeed in detecting the faulty bearing.
