The mimic enviroment to culture renal glomerular cells such as epithelial cells, endothelial cells or mesangial cells requires the basement -membrane -like scaffold. Moreover, epithelial cells is required to be cultured at the opposite site of the basement membrane. In order to confirm if the in vivo environment could be constructed in vitro, we firstly constructed immortalized normal cells of mesangial and epithelial cells, and then co-cultured both cells at the opposite sites of a fibrillar gauge-gel. The polarity of epithelial cells was observed to evaluate if the constructed fibrillar matrix is suitable to be the scaffold for multiple glomerular cells.
