Radiolysis of tyrosin, phenylalanine and 3, 4-dihydroxyphenylalanine in aqueous solution has been studied quantitatively. It was found that n-irradiation caused on (oxidative) deamination, yielding ammonia and the corresponding α-keto acids. Comparison of the rate of radiolytic decomposition has shown that of the three amino acid, phenylanine is most sensitive and tyrosin is most resistant to γ-radiation.
