The relative biological effectiveness of 200 kV X-rays and 15 MeV Betatron X-rays has been determined on the basis of nucleated bone marrow cell count used as criterion of irradiation effects. The RBE for 15 MeV betatron X-rays versus 200 kV X-rays was found to be 0.72. When a definite method of dosimetry for such a high energy X-rays is established, the RBE value tentatively derived in the present study may be subjected to some changes.
