The ferroelectric ceramics of solid solutions xSr(Li_<1/4>Nb_<3/4>)O_3-(1-x)PbTiO_3(0.05≨x≨0.40)were fabricated by conventional solid state sintering. The dielectric constants, Curie temperature, electromechanical coupling factors, and linear thermal expansion were measured as a function of x. The piezoelectric constants, elastic compliance constants, and Poisson's ratio of the specimens were calculated from the measured piezoelectric properties. Maximum coupling factors k_<31> and k_<33>and maximum piezoelectric constants d_<31> and d_<33> were obtained for the composition x=0.30, which is located close to the phase boundary between the ferroelectric tetragonal and the paraelectric cubic phases.
