High cycle fatigue testing to long lives requires high frequency equipment. For example, a 10^9 cycle test takes over seven months in traditional 50Hz servohydraulic testing machine, but only 11 days at 1kHz. In response to these test, and in order to study frequency in the vibrational loading regime, a servohydraulic system capable of load controlled testing at 1kHz has been developed. This paper describes modifications which are necessary to the load frame and servovalve design, and the control algorithms.
