The literature review shows that critical thinking skills are affected by the exposure to cultural diversity. The University of Guam (UOG) is indeed multicultural and multilingual. Using data from focus groups, this study examined the perceived influence of diversity experiences on critical thinking among UOG undergraduate students. The focus group interviews revealed : (1) diversity experiences provide students with opportunities to enhance cultural sensitivity which, in turn, can enrich the intellectual development including critical thinking; (2) students gain insight into how to maintain high ethnical values and behaviours; (3) students learn how to attach positive feelings to multicultural experiences; and (4) collaborative learning enhances the students' understanding of making decisions as a team. Educational importance of this study was particularly discussed.
