Membrane creep of circular plates, hinged at the boundary, with anisotropic and rotationally symmetric materials has been studied on the basis of a nonlinear law proposed by Marin and co-workers. The fundamental constitutive equations, derived from the equations for the orthotropic theory of creep given by Bhatnagar and Gupta, have been solved using method of solution in series. the stress and displacement components are found to change with time. For the case of vanishing anisotropy these reduce to the same expressions as obtained by Bhatnager and Gupta for isotropic case. A numerical example has also been given and the effect of anisotropy and non-steady creep has been discussed graphically.
