Transition phenomena are studied numerically in forced van der Pol oscillatorwhich have not been predicted theoretically. Let the external force be Ecosvt.Theoretically there is a critical value of E(E.). For E >E. fundamental oscillation andfor E<E. quasi-periodic or harmonic oscillation take place. However numericalstudies reveal that different regions appear even for E< E. depending on whether self-sustained oscillation or the external force is dominant. The decay time of the distancebetween two orbits shows slowing down expressed as (E -E.) "" for E>E..
