X-ray and netrtron powder diffraction studies of 1{b3 .(NH4).SO4 solid soltrtions throtrghotrtthe concentration range 0< x< 2 and in the temperattrre range from 10 Lip to 300 K have beencarried out. Frorn the concentration dependencies of the lattice paranaeters obtained for proto-nated and deuterated samples, the tricritical point have been determined near the concentrationx : 1.6. The f3-7 phase transition is of the first order for compounds with x >1.6 and of thesecond order for x< 1.6.
