A non-linear numerical simulation of the dynamo effect ol' a reversed field pinch(RFP) with finite beta is presented. It is shown that the m = - ], n = (9, 10, 11," ', 19)modes cause the dynamo effec:t and sustain the field reversed cxonfiguration. The roleof the m = 0 modes on the dynamo effect is carefully examined.
