• The shift with concentration variation on the optical-absorption of U band inKCI:KBr and KCI:NaCl mixed crystals was studied by use of poirat-ton and size-ioncorrection models. We found that using the Bartram et at. method there is not ap-preciable correction to the point-ion energies. Assuming, for the ground state, thatthe electrons are concentrated at the lattice site, the calculated energies are in goodagreement with the experimental results for KCI, KBr and NaC] in pure state.
