A model theory of inward pinch and peaked density profile of ohmic discharges inthe tokamak is presented. Jon anomalous viscosity in the prese?ace of sheared rotationcauses the drift across the magnetic field. Radial electric field, 7"., can cause an inwardpinch of electrons as well. The ratio of viscosities and the diffusion coefficient, thePrandtl number, determines tlte structures of E. and the density profile n(r) in a sta-tuonary state. In viscous plasmas, peaked profiles of both density and rotation velocity are expected. Reduction of edge neutrals changes the bounclary condition and caninduce further density peaking. Change of dB./ car propagates into the center, causingion viscous heating associated with the damping of velocity sltear.
