This paper deals with the flow of rarefied gas past a circular cylinder at lowMach numbers and the heat transfer from the cylinder on the basis of the B-G-Kequation. The solution is obtained in the form: the Oseen-Stokes solutionspreparing slips at the cylinder surface and the correction terms in the kineticregion. The simultaneous integral equations for the velocity, density and tem-perature are derived. Numerical calculations for the thermal field were carriedout over a wide range of the Kundsen number covering the slip to the nearly-freemolecular flow. The variation of the Nusselt number with the Knudsen number isobtained and is favorably compared with a previous formula valid for smallKnudsen numbers.
