The longitudinal ultrasonic attenuation due to spin fluctuations in anisotropicitinerant electron ferromagnets is investigated by using the self-consistent renor-malization theory of spin fluctuations by Moriya and Kawabata. The anomalousattenuation at the phase boundary and the broad peak above the Curie tempera-ture are derived, and the temperature and magnetic field dependences of theattenuation coefficient are discussed. The numerical calculations were performedusing an electron gas model.
