Ultrasonic rarama;etic resonance absorr>tion coefficients bar f" ions in a cubicfield are calculated with special referetce to U" in The.. The UPR absorptioncoefficients at liquid helium temperature are large and comparable in magnitudeto those of lanthanide tons with an even number of electrons, however they dropvery rapidly with the elevation of tenaperature. The tetragonal and the trigonalcoupling constants, A. and B., in the orbit-lattice interaction Hamiltonian can bedetermined independently by measuring the absorption coefficients with longi-tudinal and transverse waves, respectively. Tje characteristic angular dependencesof absorption coefficients are also discussed.
