The author has applied the general theory developed in the preceding paper to the elastic scattering of slow electrons by the hydrogen molecule, using the more exact molecular potential than those used in J. B. Fisk's paper. The calculation has been made for the following energies of the incident electron : 27.9 ev, 17.1 ev, 6.8 ev and 1.7 ev : the corresponding total cross sections being 9.163, 19.43, 43.84 and 33.23 atomic unit. The remaining discrepancy with the observed values may be attributable to the effect of exchange and of inelastic collisions.
