The diffusion of thallous ions into potassium bromide single crystals has been measured as a function of temperature. The thallous ions were introduced into the crystal by heating the latter in a vapor of thallium metal. Concentrations of thallous ions were measured by the height of the characteristic absorption band of a thallous ion in a potassium bromide crystal. This height varies linearly with the concentration of hallous ions. Activation energy of the diffusion was 1.93 eV.
