For the purpose of studing the structure of mosaic boundaries in an alloy, observation of etching pits on the (110) plane of a Ni-Mn single crystal has been made by an electron microscope. The results obtained are summarized as follows: i) Mosaic boundary is composed of a set of parallel edge dislocations which are regularly spaced on a crystal lattice plane, as shown by Burgers, model. ii) These edge dislocations are along <112> crystallographic direction with Burgers vector α/2 <110>, or along <100> direction with Burgers vectorα <100> as suggested by Frank. iii) The dislocations are regularly spaced on {110} or {100} plane respectively which are perpendicular to its Burgers vector.
