It is shown that Guderley and Barish's asymptotic solution for the sonic flow, which is valid far from the body, can also be derived on the basis of the thin-wing expansion method as extended by Imai. Although Imai's formula cannot be applied to axisymmetrical cases, yet the first term of the asymptotic solution in these cases can be obtained as well by means of usual formula based on the linear theory.
