Raman Scattering Study of Rb_3H (SeO_4)_2 Single Crystal in High Temperature Phases

Ratnan scattering frorn a single crystal of [1{b3H(SeO,j)z has lceen observed in the frequency-1-1range between 20 cm and 1000 Clll at phases I (482.6 K,466.8 K,443.3 K) and II (391.2 K,301.2 K, 78.6 K). The measured spectra in phase II were assigned to the norrnal modes of SeO,jtetrahedra vibration. In phase I, this conapottnd shows high electric conductivity dtre to thehopping of protons. A new Raman line has been fotrnd at 826 cur ' in this high teraaperatttrephase. It is suggested that this line is c?tused Icy the stretching mode of a single Se-0 bond inSeO,j tetrahedra, accotnpanied by destrtrction and reconstrtrction of hydrogen bonds.
