An analytical f'orm of screened itnpurity potential is derived, taking into account the presenceof a loound electron exhibiting a hydrogenic W2lVC fttnction. A strbsequent calctr[ation of theinaptrrity level as a function of the screening par?trneter then slaows tlnat the impact of screeningcan becorne very different, depending on xvhether the itnptrrity xvas initially occtrpied or empty.When the screening paranaeter exceeds the (trnscr'eened) reciprocal Bohr raditts, there is noeznpty unaptrruty state, whereas if an electron is trampped there retaaains a localized state, the levelof which sattrrates arotrnd 0.39 Ry. Possible inaplications of tlais restrlt are disctzssed, regardingeither neutral irnptrrity scattering, the ]VIetal-Instrlator Transition or the possibility to get bistableimptrrity states.
