Magnetic and strtnctural properties of Ni fine particles (0,7:I?O.2 /rlll in dia?aaeter) co?tted xvithPd (5 nrnx37 nm in thickness) were investig;tied in a hydrogen attnosphere by NIL(22l11S of zauagne-tonuetry and X-ray diffractottaetry. The spontaneous tnagnetic zauornent is newly indvxced on thePd atoms even at [00111 teraaperatttre by the uaaagnetic proxi?nity effect between Xi core and Pdlayer. Relatively large coercive force indicates the presence of the interf'ace anisotropy. The magnetic polarization and tlae coercive force are suppressed by the hydrogenation. The tenaperatturedependence of the unagnetizationa shows a broatd tttaxirntztn arotrnd 80 K atnd 2111 increase below50 K. The maxinautn in rtaagnetization is due to the enhanced paranuagnetic contribtztion of Pd,and the gradtmal increase below 50 K is dvxe to the Ni znotaaent in cont?tct with ferrornagnetic Pd.A naodel for la3'ered tnagnetic strtrcture of the Ni p?trticles coated with Pd is proposed.
