The charge fltmctuation of the SDW (spin density wave) state has been examined for a systemwhich consists of one-dinuensional quarter-filled band with repulsive interactions of both on-siteand nearest-neighbor site (U and V) and the dimerization energy (#.j). The commensurabilityenergy in the ground state is studied xvithin the mean-field theory and the collective moderepresenting the charge fltrctuation is calculated in terms of the random phase approximation. It is fotrnd that the gap of' the excitation spectrurn, c;., induced by tlae comrnensurability energyvanishes at a critical value of V corresponding to the onset of the coexistence of 2Ap-SDWand 4Ap-CDW (charge density wave) where AF denotes the Fermi wave nurnber. The spectralweight indicates the enhancement of the charge fltrctuation in the presence of the energy V whichcottapetes with energies t.3 and U.
