With the aid of the enumeration method, a rigorous solution which involves ringformation is derived for a particular branching model A - R - B, .. Tlxe solution pro-vides an unexpected result of ring size distribution: The system yields less abundanceof rings than a linear system. The bigger the ring size and the larger the functionality, the lesser the yields. In a concentrated solution, however, the coutcentrations ofsmaller ,v-sized rings can approximately be expressed as [7<,] = (k../ k,)=D': / x, wherek. denotes the cyclization rate constant of an ,v-sized chain, k, an interconnectionrate constant and D the extent of reaction of A functional units, respectively. The result is closely related to the shape of clusters (L.) which still possesses theclassical form under strong ring fornnation. However, the numerical solution showsthat the classical Flory formula of size distribution does not work in general.enumeration theory, renormalizatioua, ring formation, cluster shape
