The dressing method (DM) powerful for the local analysis of sccme integrablesystems and the inverse spectral transform (IST) are compared for the case of aneigenvalue problem in 2 X 2-matrix order and 1 T l dimensions, Althotzgh the solutionmethod of DM is reduced to Gel'fand-Levitan type of integral equations (GEE), thatis not excatly equivalent to the one obtained by the IST. This problem was studied par-ticularly and we found that the principal factorization formula as to the Fredholmtype of operators used in the DM is directly related with the Riemanrt-Hilbert prob-Hem (RIIP) which is important for the IST.
