We give a possible interpretation of the adaptation of the charge density waves(CDW) to the pulse fields, which is observed to be accompanied with the memory ofthe width of the applied pulses (Ido step memory effect). When the identical pulsefields are repeatedly applied, successive state transitions are induced amongmetastable states. By the numerical simulations with the use of the Fukuyama-LeeRice model, we have found that only the state can be a fixed point in the transitionswhere the sliding motion under the pulse field satisfies a certain condition. Selectingthe adequate state for a fixed point, the system adapts itself to the applied pulse widthso that the current response has a common regularity regardless of the pulse width.
