Instability of a gas cylinder in a moving infinite liquid under the action of capillaryand inertia forces is discussed. The motion of the liquid has always a destabilizing in-fluence, which increases the region of instability. But, the longitudinal wave numberfor the maximum instability does not change with the liquid velocity.
