Thermal Properties of Ta-W Alloys

The phonon dispersion, frequency distribution, Debye 0 and the elastic constantsof Ta-W alloys have been investigated using the deLauney angular force (DAF)model. The central force constants have been considered up to third neighbours whilethe angular force constants are operative up to two neighbours. It has been foundthat the third neighbour interaction is very weak in Ta-W alloys. The angular forcesare quite important for the second neighbours. The phonon frequencies, Debye 0 andthe elastic constants exhibit a good agreement with the experimental values.
