In zinc, a compensated metal, the excitation of heJicon wave has been observedin as low magnetic field as 2 k0e for the field direction along [0001] by the magneticbreakdown. The propagation of wave exhibits the spin splitting of quantumoscillation. From the analysis of the data it has been confirmed that the oscilla-tion is associated with the 'needle' of electron Fermi surface and the absolutevalue of the effective g factor has been ascertained as 175.
