• Theoretical B([2) values, B([2) branching ratios and energy levels for evenRu and Pd nuclei have been calculated recently using Boson Expansion Techniqueand Interacting Boson Model. The results of these calculations are in pooragreement with the experimental values. The asymmetry parameter 7 in thesenuclei has been found to be 23.2'<7<27' and as such these nuclei cannot beregarded as deformed in the original sense of Bohr and Mottelson and thesenuclei are expected to be triaxial in shape where the asymmetric rotor model isapplicable. Therefore, the Asymmetric Rotor Model has been used to explainknown B(E2) values, B(E2) branching ratios and low lying energy levels and amuch better agreement has been achieved.
