Thetmochromism in acnueous solutions of cobalt<;hloride with soditun chloridewas used to visualize temperature distributions in liquid. Clxan'nges of color of thesolution due to temperatture variations were observed both by tlirect photographyand by measurements of the transmittartce of light. The advarmtage of the presentmethod is that it visualizes tlte temperature itself (not its gradient) withoutgiving any disturbance to the fluid. Several examples of applications to typicalflows were shown.
