Contribution to SERS of Surface Plasmon Polariton Modes on Sinusoidal Metal Surface

Electromagnetic field intensity is calculated ntunerically near a sinusoidalmetal surface and for a p-polarized incident wave. We defme the magnitude ofelectromagnetic enhancement in SERS by the electric field strength on the metalsurface, which is enhanced at the resonance of a stu'face plasmon polariton (SPP)mode. Then we have the enhancement factor to be at most 100, which is muchsmaller than the observed enhancement.
