Extensive air showers with sizes from 8 x 10' to 5 x 10' particles were observedby the scintillator array in Kobe University near sea level. Results obtained inthe experiment are as follows :(1) The lateral distribution of HAS is well expressed by the NKG function ofsingle age parameter in the range distance from l m to 50 m from the core.(2) The average age parameter of EAS decreases with increasing shower sizeand approaches a constant value, and the fluctuation of age parameters decreaseswith increasing shower size monotonously(3) The absorption length A..,. of EAS is almost constant in the observed sizerange, and it is 117-38 g/cm".(4) The integral size spectrum of EAS in the size range 8 x 10' -5 x 10' canbe expressed by a power law of single exponent, j.e.Z(>.V.)=(3.01 .1.0.34) x 10-'(7V./10') """"'/m'.s.sr.
