• A simple form of transition metal model potential has been used to investigatethe phonon spectra of niobium. Most of the anomalies in the phonon dispersioncurves have been explained by the present model potential approach. The resultsthus obtained show a fairly good agreement with the experimental ones. Thebinding energy also agrees with the available experimental rest.tlts.
