The form factor of a separable interaction between a pair of particles is animportant input in a three-body calculation for a transfer reaction. To constructthe same, a method based on the work of Bolsterli and Mackanzie is tried for asimple case viz. a-d pair, the inputs in this calculation being the phase shift ofa-d elastic scattering and the a-d separation energy of 'Li. Finally the wavefunction of the relative motion of a-d clusters in the ground state of 'Li, as derivedfrom the calculated form factor, is compared with the available information onit from the experimental data on the 'Li(m , nn)'He reaction.NUCLEAR STRUCTURE Alpha-deuteron interaction, separability[form factor calculation.51
