Transition of' a radiation field is theoretically s;tudied in a radiation layer. Asteady one-dimensiouaal problem of radiative heat transfer is considered tlln'ougha gray absorbing, emitting amad scatteri?ag medium ixa a semi-infinite space bour?dedby a plate, which is gray and semitransparent. Through the plate, a beam isimposed perpendicularly iua addition to the isott'opic emissiota from the plate. The heat flux irr a deep region is maintained to a constant value. The scatteringmodel is the Rayleigh model. The radiation intensity is obtairaed as a function ofpositioua and directiota. The results show the transition of the radiation field from astrongly anisot?'opic field in the neighbourhood c>f the boundary to the field ina deep region where a weak anisotropic field is caused by the constaxat heat flux. The effect of tlte anisotropic scattering is very vxeak and effectively negligible.
